The Song of the Lioness « Thread Started on Aug 1, 2007, 3:29pm »
There is a world parallel to our own world many years ago, but where magic rules, horses can fly, and only the men are warriors.
But there is one girl in the land of Tortall who has earned her knighthood. She is known as The Lioness, The Woman Who Rides Like a Man, and more simply: Alanna of Trebond.
But evil magic is lurking, threatening everyone in the kingdom of Tortall and beyond...
Name: Alanna of Trebond Age: 18 Desc: Bio: Always longing for adventure, Alanna disguised herself as a boy,and trained to become a knight. Now a fully fledged warrior, Alanna continues with her search for adventure with her purple-eyed cat, Faithful, and her wild mare, Moonlight.
Alanna mounted Moonlight, swinging up into her leather saddle, as her sword, Lightning- which was carefully tucked into it’s sheath- swung from Alanna’s hip. Faithful yowled from his place on the saddle. I still can’t believe you dragged me into this, the purple-eyed cat groaned. There was a special bond between Alanna and the black cat, and Faithful’s meows turned to words in the knight’s ears, and Faithful could understand everything Alanna said in return. “Ah, silly cat. But who would talk some sense into me if you had not come?” Alanna asked, a smile breaking across her face as she nudged Moonlight with the toe of her leather boot. The cat ignored her, pretending to glower, and Moonlight broke into a gallop, racing across the open plain.

Name: William Age: 21 Description:The guy in the middle Bio: William is a crazy son of a gun. He lives in a small town just out of Tortall. He is known for his killing and his evil ways.
Joan was sitting in her small cottage that she shared with most of her family.
William was in the shadows of the forest, watching Alanna. He watched her closely, studing her every move.

Alanna frowned, and pulled on Moonlight's reigns so the mare slowed to a walk. "Do you hear that?" she whispered to Faithful. The only thing I hear is my rumbling stomach! the purple-eyed cat complained. Alanna rolled her eyes and kicked Moonlight back into canter. But she could scense that there was something out there. But what...?

William slowly backed away as he feared he was spotted. He froze and didn't more a millimetre. He waited until she wasn't in hearing distance and finally moved again. He knew he had to get to Tortall before she did.

Alanna frowned slightly as she heard movement in the brush alongside the well worn traveling road. It was probably just an animal... Alanna thought, although something nagged in the back of her mind. Urging Moonlight forward again, Alanna continued down the road, which then split, leading into a small town, and continuing down south to Tortall. Alanna knew she was short on time, but looking at the sun sinking slowly in the sky, Alanna knew the best thing would be to stop here tonight, and get up early to continue her journy. Alanna rode Moonlight at a slow canter down the dusty road into the village. She had never been here before, although she had passed by it once or twice. There was a fairly good sized pub in the center of town, and Alanna dismounted Moonlight in one swift movement, and tied the horse's reins to a nearby post. Her long dark cloak swirled about her as night began to fall, as Alanna entered the pub. Her hood was pulled over her bright copper coloured hair, and her deep purple eyes hidden by shadows. She knew someone here had likely heard the tales of the famous female knight, and wished to just order a drink, stay here for the night, and leave at dawn without attracting attention to herself.
